Finally! Some progress made on EXT3′s fsync() latency

I was furious when my new expensive workstation (Quad-Core q9450, 8GB RAM, 4x RAID5 via Areca) exhibited signs of latency when I first built it. After some reading and forum posting, I had verified that it could be related to an fsync() issue on EXT3. I debated switching to XFS, but didn’t have the balls (or spare storage space to backup my data to). Just today, I found an article about some progress being made on this front.
